Maxis Broadband in phone vs usb modem….

February 20th, 2010 · 23 Comments('DiggThis?

Haha, i found something weird about Maxis Broadband!!! Simply just want to shout out loud here!!!!!! LOLZ!

What’s going wrong with my Maxis Broadband USB modem?

This is the USB modem manufactured by Huawei.

Green light stands for EDGE connection and this means there is no 3G (WCDMA/HSPDA) connection.

But……

My Nokia 5800 has full bars of 3G connection!

Hahaha, Huawei modem is the loser, even Nokia handphone which is not specifically design as a modem can overtake it easily!

p/s:

  1. Basically I prefer Maxis BB to Celcom BB. Just simply because RM58 Maxis BB is much faster compare to RM68 celcom.
  2. If you can afford Rm98 per month and you are heavy internet user, Celcom BB would be a better choice since the Celcom data limit is 5GB. This is because 6GB Maxis BB is RM118.
  3. The above two conditions may not valid if your area do not have their 3G coverage. If you have either one company 3G coverage only, then you have no choice.
  4. Frankly, Celcom coverage is larger than Maxis. So, if you are a traveler, do consider Celcom!
  5. ALL above Maxis BB packages price are after discount (RM10 DISCOUNT for exist Maxis Postpaid user + RM10 DISCOUNT for Credit Card direct debit transfer). So ALL the above Maxis BB prices need to add RM20 if you do not meet the two conditions.
  6. If you are a 18 to 25-years-old youth, you are eligible to subscribe RM48 2GB Maxis Advanced Lite Youth package.
  7. Digi BB goes with Blackberry for (unlimited data usage) just RM50 per month.
  8. U mobile has unlimited data usage at just RM68 per month and its speed is excellent according to kRaZy (I believe her)!! Coverage only in KL, parts of Selangor, parts of Negeri Sembilan!

    thanks for nang me.
i used celcom bb RM98 package , and stuck with it for 1 year contract. My opinion is any mobile broadband is fast or reliable at certain place where not many people using it.
for example my bb was pretty bad at campus ( slow, always disconnect, problem problem ), but when i go to kelantan was full speed 3.6mbps
also i use the broadband with my 5800xm all the time, online anywhere =P

    Maxis suck….
They cheat by tellin’ me a great offer if I change my prepaid to postpaid (you don’t have to pay monthly bill.Just pay your durations usage bill).

After I use the postpaid plan and I see my bill, make my hand shakin’….
WTF! RM78 ringgit for 1 month??!! Yes i use my postpaid to call but not everyday I using my phone to make a call. How can this happen?

I double check by call that service centre and ask them what the heck is going on here? Before this, they mention that I don’t have to pay monthly bill but why my bill have such a lot of amount? They give me the simple answer…

(Even you don’t use phone to make a call or using the internet BB, doesn’t means you don’t have to pay monthly bill)

I already being fool on the time I using the Maxis postpaid. really hate Maxis! They cheat us just like they cheats you about Maxis Broadband coverage…

I  havent tried Maxis Broadband on my own(today15sept2011,mind you?). I quit Digi bb during early bb launching in Alor Setar due to BAD customer service. It took Digi 3 days and still failed upon 2ND time of my registration and i gaveup. Customer service via phone is not reliable and i lost rm200 for that matter( didn’t get refund although it’s their fault). I believe broadband depends on location, time and wheather. My friend tried Maxis at the office and its quite fast. The scariest part is how fast the data flow like water.  Need to remind you, we noticed that the data counter count very fast while the page is on the way loading up. Where as, any bb, letsay brand X, loading the same page while take less bit/byte but abit slower. So my main gripe now, is there any broadband reasonable enough? You take slow bb and your patience is tested. You take fast bb and the data counter counts like hell faster than the page loading up. I said this based on my observation pattern used by my friend at the office. If only the quota is lift up, it would make the competition among telco go crazier than the 6% service tax
