We didn’t manage to win Thomas Cup 2008. But in 2008, Datuk Lee Chong Wei won Lin Dan!!! =) However, in the same year, Datuk Lee lost to Lin Dan in Beijing Olympic Games. That’s life which is fulled of unknowns or uncertainties.

As Thomas Cup is a team-based competition, Datuk Lee’s victory isn’t enough to help Malaysia team in securing the champion seat. Factors that affect this two world top players are management of stress, speed of attacks and some unique tactics. Datuk Lee’s attacks were faster than Lin Dan in Thomas Cup 2008. While Lin Dan beat Datuk Lee in speed during Beijing Olympic Games.

Supporters at the competition scene play a big role in reducing the players’ stress. The final held in Beijing were crowded with mostly China supporters. Without doubt, that is a booster for Lin Dan. Being a host for this game, it is an advantage for Malaysia team in Thomas Cup 2010.

Xian Hu (the coach), due to advancing age, had decided to retire earlier this year and his departure saw a drop in Lin Dan’s performance.  But, Xian Hu is now back (Superman Returns =P) to China team prepare the three-time world champion for the the Thomas Cup Finals. Will Lin Dan win Datuk Lee with Xian Hu’s help?
